Blog issue 7)

Back by popular demand !! Well if you can call 3 readers, constitutes to  making the blog popular? anyway...

Well what can I say, i've been quite distracted over the last 4 weeks on my travels from Cheltenham, Whitby  to Newcastle last week. Also working the GN in between. I have taken my eye off the ball!

This could be a long one, so time to reach for the berocca!

First and foremost you've all done a fantastic job over the Cheltenham and Aintree festivals! It's so good to be on a district with proper betting shops and outstanding service!  Top tipster for Cheltenham was Kai in Lowden, well done!! I should have the vouchers with you some time, next week. I don't think I did too well but thankfully I more than made up for it at the racecourse.

The result of the grand national went in favour of the bookies, but Flamstead decided to give it all away with a 10k payout on the football, and a 10k payout on the golf.

Sorry I did not get around the whole district, I tried my hand at hosting for the day. The pictures and the extra mile you all went to on the day, was a real pleasure to see and be a part of!! Once again well done and I can't wait to do it all again with you all next year! Thanks also to Mandy, Cheryl and Katie for coming over to help out for the day we are very grateful.  Luke was delighted with the cup cakes! (I hope the customers got some?)

GREAT NEWS !!!!! I am actually lost for superlatives on how to best praise the districts efforts. With regards the FIRST WAVE of mystery shoppers results. The target for the year is 55% and I am pleased to announce for the first time ever the district has achieved above 60%. Well done to all, we must all now continue this into wave 2 starting next week......

With over 20 new starters on the district it is imperative that we train, develop and instil good customer service skills from day one. All new starters should have read the last 5 mystry shopper reports at least. I shall be testing their knowledge and looking for good behaviour on my visits.

Let's please make all the new starters welcome and encourage daily. As with all new jobs it can be very daunting. Good standards are given from day one.

We also achieved our target of 10 NPS scores on the district. The last two branches to join the party were Ware Road and Enfield Highway!! Well done.  Now the last target for these 10 branches is to make it a perfect hat-trick! In the next blog I am going to run a book on it. Please keep up the good work!

Well done and congratulations to our very own techno wiz Mark Lesser winning the regional HOME AWARD. Even more kudos for the district. At this rate we shall lose him to silicon valley and then we will all be buggered.

I know you have all missed my tipping section and I even got a email from Tom Segal last week looking for the winner of this Saturdays BET365.

Saturday the 25th April

15.15 Bet365 Celebration chase, Mr Mole 4/1 get on now it will go off 2/1 Fav. Goodbye Mr. McCoy.

15.50 Paint the Clouds 14/1 E/W

14.35 Gitane Du Berlais E/W

I may well have some competition from Craig and Martin in Woolpack. Rumour has it that they both chopped it off last week!?!

Interesting to see Coneygree in blog 2, go and win the Gold Cup. Fantastic performance!

Time to vote for our next social event to be held in May ????? Top Golf, was a Top Night !! I think everyone knows the story of the night !?! My first time over to Chigwell and I loved it, i shall definitely go again...

2015

Preview

Peter Mulligan

To District 082,

The excitement is building as the biggest four days in the Jumps racing calendar arrives next week. Don’t worry if you missed our very successful preview night held in Holborn on Sunday night. Sit back and let me give you a flavour of what was discussed.

I am a jumps racing enthusiast and have been ever since Dawn Run achieved greatness when winning the Blue Ribbon Cheltenham Gold Cup in 1986, having won the Champion Hurdle in 1984.

I remember the gallant girl battling up the hill and Sir Peter O’Sullevan calling “The mare’s beginning to get up. And as they come to the line she’s done it! Dawn Run has won the Gold Cup!

The Cheltenham Festival is unique in that every type of National Hunt race has its finale; from novices to older horses, over hurdles, fences, long and short distances and even over the idiosyncratic cross country course. From October, when the season gets into full swing, the ambition for all trainers and owners is to get a horse to the festival. National Hunt differs from the flat in that the cream of the flat generally only race for two seasons as the best colts are worth more at stud. With National Hunt horses can be around for five years or more and they become like old friends. Cheltenham asks everything of a horse; agility for the turns and balance for the undulations.  Most of all, and what you will not appreciate on television, is that they need bravery, fight and stamina for the final furlongs that are run up a race changing hill. Cheltenham in March is simply four days of cup finals - the equine Olympics!

There have been lots of ups and downs in the twenty two years that I have attended the festival, with an obvious highlight being 1997 when the legendary Tony McCoy rode Mr Mulligan to victory in the Gold Cup.  It would be safe to say that it would be a struggle to recall any of the events that took place that evening!

For those of you who don’t know, Outstanding Customer Service is my PASSION!! This should be magnified throughout the week with all our extremely generous offers and promotions for this years festival. Let me take you on a brief journey of the four days and highlight a few major races of each day.

Day 1

The Supreme Novices Hurdle, the first race of the day. Turn up the tannoy and just listen to the roar of the Cheltenham crowd that bellows out over the Gloucestershire hills.

I can’t emphasise strongly enough the importance of communicating the truly AMAZING money back offer that we are giving away in retail. This offer will be scrutinised from start to finish so please ensure that all team members follow the instructions outlined in the shop team briefer.

The meeting as always is headlined as the battle between England and Ireland. In the Irish camp on Tuesday there’s Willie Mullins

Tuesday could be a Willie Mullins benefit day?Image

Have a good look at this man ladies and gentlemen...... This is Willie Mullins, eight times Champion Trainer in Ireland eight times and champion for the last seven years. To have a favourite for a Festival race is an achievement in itself - Mullins has five of the market leaders on the first day, such is the power of his stable. Expect to be taking multiples on the following;

130 Supreme Novices Hurdle - Douvan (7/4)

205 Arkle Chase - Un De Sceaux (4/7)

320 Champion Hurdle -  Faugheen (evens)

400 Mares Hurdle - Annie Power (10/11) Banker !!

440 National Hunt Chase - Don Pole (3/1) (Prices average at time of writing).

For England we have

1.30 L’Ami Serge (Nicky Henderson) 5/1  (my selection/tip)

2.05 Vibrato Valtat ( Paul Nicholls)

3.20 The New One ( Nigel Twiston-Davies)

4.00 Sorry nothing comes close to Annie Power (TIP Mortgage Job!)

4.40 Sergo Success ( Alan King)

Let’s look at the two main races in a little more detail.

Arkle Chase

Un De Sceaux, like all the novices that make up The Arkle, is lightly raced. Unbeaten in seven hurdle races, Un De Sceaux fell in his first chase but was then hugely impressive in a beginners chase at Fairyhouse before taking the Irish Arkle at Leopardstown in January with a neat round of jumping. Clearly this animal has a Rolls Royce of an engine. Can he be beatenWill he win? Your average customer in the shop will be looking for value in this race with such a short priced market leader. Some form students will point to the fact that he has only won on soft or heavy ground, conditions he will be highly unlikely to find at Cheltenham. That man Mullins has another top class animal entered in the race -  Vautor has top draw form around Cheltenham winning last year’s Supreme Novices with ease  but is as short as 2/1 for the JTL Novices Chase on the Thursday over 2 miles 4 f. If you want to stay out of the poor house at Cheltenham then I will always recommend you stay away from short price favourites and horses with no form at the track. I was very impressed with last year’s Supreme Novice form and the runner up, Josses Hill, looks like he just needed a bit of time to adjust to the bigger obstacles.

This race could turn into a bit of a procession. Any flaw in jumping however will be exposed around Cheltenham especially for novices over 2 miles. A fast pace is always guaranteed in this race so accurate jumping will win the day.

 Mulligans tip -  Josses Hill 12/1 e/w

Champion Hurdle

This race is arguably the best renewal of the race we’ve had this century!

Faugheen, a winner of the Neptune at last year’s Festival over 2 miles 5, has been subsequently campaigned over 2 miles; gaining effortless wins at Ascot in November and Kempton on Boxing Day. Representing Mullins again and around an even money favourite with all the layers, this race is no procession. Lots of racing fans make a decision before Christmas as to what day of the festival they will visit. This year lots of people’s decision will be made on the strength of this race. There are any number of worthy challengers for this race.  The New One, so unlucky in this race last year when nearly brought down by the ill-fated Our Connor, has barely put a foot wrong in his four wins this season. Locally trained by Nigel Twiston Davis he will be popular. Jezki, brave battling winner of this race last year, will surely be primed for a repeat bid and  will have his followers. Jezki has no wins to his name this season for one reason; he has been beaten three times by the legend that is Hurricane Fly. If Ruby Walsh decides to ride Faugheen some lucky jockey will have a thrill of a ride on Hurricane. This is a horse we will talk about in years to come. Hurricane Fly has won 22 Grade 1 races. To contend in that many would be an achievement, to win that many is phenomonalThe Champion Hurdle winner in 2011 & 2013, the cheers and applause will  certainly be special if he wins this year. With such a short priced market leader Hurricane Fly will be a popular each way selection in the shops. For me the interest is with the Mullins dark horse, Arctic Fire who I napped last year at odds of 16/1 to win the County Hurdle. Only to be beaten half a length by Lac Fontana. (If Ruby Walsh had not missed the ride due to a fall in the Triumph I still think he would have won the race!)

This is what Willie has to say about him ‘He is waiting in the wings, improving all the time and I am definitely not discounting him. As a 3 year old we thought this fella was better than anything in the stable, his age. A strong run race will suit and he loves the track.’

Mulligans tip Arctic Fire 16/1 E/W

Wednesday…Champion Chase Day

So Wednesday is upon us and we have The Queen Mother Champion Chase. This year’s race turns on the fortunes (or misfortunes) of two of the main protagonists. Paul Nicholls charge, Dodging Bullets (bred by a certain L Dettori) has progressed strongly since finishing fourth in last year’s Arkle. His below par run around Cheltenham in November was soon forgotten when he took the Tingle Creek at Sandown in December. He then demonstrated this was no fluke by taking Ascots Clarence House Chase in January. Such feats would ordinarily make him the market leaderThe reason he’s not is due is below

ImagePaul Nicholls. Can his Dodging Bullets deliver in the Champion Chase?

The Nicky Henderson trained Sprinter Sacre and the Gary Moore trained Sire De Grugy must be previewed together. Sprinter Sacre, an above average hurdler, has been a revelation over the bigger fences. The destructive manner of his wins at the highest level as a chaser took the breath away. Ten chase wins in a row and undefeated, it seemed nothing could stop him. When he pulled up at Kempton on Dec 27th 2013 with a heart condition the disappointment and concern was huge. As short as 1/3 for the Champion Chase at the time, Sprinter Sacre never made it to Cheltenham.  Sire De Grugy, then 7/1 ante post 2nd favourite for the race, took advantage of his absence -  a 6 length, 11/4 fav winner on the day.  Sire De Grugy is a nine time winner over fences but largely because he has avoided a clash with Sprinter.

This season Sire de Grugy was off the track injured until returning and falling at Newbury on the 7th February. Connections took the brave decision to run him in a handicap at Chepstow on 21st February where, giving 22 pounds in weight to his nearest rival, he looked to be back to his former self dotting up a seven length winner.

Off the track for 13 months with a well-documented heart condition, Sprinter Sacre was second to Dodging Bullets in the Clarence House at Ascot. Connections are expecting more and a strong case can be made should he retain his old ability.

The three horses mentioned are all trading around 3/1 – 4/1 at the moment. For the class that is on show it is a wide open event. Could it be set up for another?

That man Mullins has an interesting one entered in this by the name of Champagne Fever. Entered also in the Ryanair and Gold Cup, this horse is pure class!!!! 2012 Champion Bumper winner, 2013 Supreme Novices Hurdle winner, 2014 Arkle  second. Difficult to rule him out with any conviction in what looks like another exciting renewal.

Mulligans tip Champagne Fever 6/1 E/W Nap of the meeting!!

Thursday…World Hurdle & Ryanair Chase Day

World Hurdle

Zarkandar representing Paul Nicholls is many peoples idea of this race winner. Triumph Hurdle winner in 2011, Aintree Hurdle winner in 2013 he has a lot of class. Some doubt the trip at Cheltenham for this animal and he has been beaten at the shorter trip at this track over 2 miles 4. Clearly a talented horse, he’s hard to place. A lively outsider in this race is the Nick Williams trained Reve De Sivola. If this was at Ascot he would be much shorter than the 20/1 readily available. A winner of the last three Long Walk Hurdle renewals at Ascot he clearly retains his best form for that track. At Cheltenham he has mixed it with the best, winning the Cleeve Hurdle at the trial meeting in 2013 and was second to Saphir Du Rheu in this season’s renewal. Saphir Du Rheu has been ok at Cheltenham. He has the Cleeve Hurdle win at Cheltenham and the 2014 Lanzarote Hurdle at Kempton on his CV. Representing the powerful Paul Nicholls stable he will be popular in the Stewart family colours of four time winner Big Bucks.

Another horse that has come into the race under the radar finished 3rd in last year’s race and has pretty decent Cheltenham form. This is the JP MacManus owned At Fishers Cross. Without the pair that finished in front of him last year the general 40/1 on offer is extremely tempting. Could the legend that is Tony McCoy take the ride and storm up the Cheltenham Hill?!?

Mulligans Tip At Fishers Cross 40/1

Ryanair Chase

This is the Championship race for those who will not get the trip in the Gold Cup and those for whom the Champion Chase over two miles is too short.

The Gordon Elliot trained Don Cossack heads the market in this race. A four time winner this season he has been very impressive in his wins, none more so than when landing the Grade 1 John Durkan Memorial at PunchestownThe Alan King trained Balder Success demonstrated he is a quality horse landing the Grade 1 Ascot Chase on Valentine’s day this year. Despite this animals obvious ability even the most romantic of supporters could surely not dream of this horse winning around Cheltenham, having fallen twice and unseated the rider on his other starts at the track. The Nicky Henderson trained Ma Filleule is a lively contender. Second to Holywell at last year’s Festival he was mighty impressive a few weeks later over the National fences at Aintree, winning the Topham Chase. His 3 ¼ length second to Balder Success on Valentine’s Day looks good, given he has made it around Cheltenham. The John Joseph Hanlon trained Hidden Cyclone will be looking to go one better than last year’s second in the race. On his only other run at Cheltenham he was placed in the 2013 Paddy Power Chase in the November so his form at the track is decent. He fell on his debut this season before a Grade 1 placing over Christmas at Leopardstown. He was back in the winners enclosure at Punchestown taking the The Tied Cottage Chase early February.

Mulligans tip Balder Succes 7/1 e/w

Friday…Gold Cup Day

The Cheltenham Gold Cup is the most prestigious race in the National Hunt calendar. The Grand National will make you more famous as globally more people will watch the race. Anyone in National Hunt when asked what race they would like to win will say almost immediately the Gold Cup.  Big races generate a unique atmosphere and experience, none more so than this. This year’s renewal has all the top horses in it that it should and it is difficult to side with any one animal. Take market leader Silviniaco Conti. Paul Nicholls charge generally 3/1 with all the firms, is by any measure an outstanding chaser but a doubt exists. If this race was at Kempton, Haydock or Aintree he would be shorter in the market. The fear is the extra two furlongs up the hill at Cheltenham is a little too far for him. Two out last year he looked for all the world a winner before treading water and letting three horses pass him. He seems much better at relatively flat tracks. Oliver Sherwood’s Many Clouds has a progressive profile this season. Taking a Listed Chase on his seasonal debut at Carlisle he then went to Newbury and won the Hennessey Gold Cup Handicap carrying 11-6, no mean achievement.   He cemented his place high in the market by taking the Betbright Cup on Festival Trials day in January. The JP McManus owned Carlingford Lough will be popular this year as it is likely to be AP McCoy’s final ride in the race and he has a live chance on form. After finishing sixth in last year’s RSA Chase he has progressed to win the Grade 1 Hennessey Gold Cup at Leopardstown in FebruaryHolywell looks short enough at 10s in the market. He will have to recapture his dazzling spring form of last year and then improve some to be competitive, not an impossibility given he is trained by Jonjo O’Niell. Last year’s winner Lord Windemere has top Cheltenham credentials, having taken the RSA Chase in 2013 before taking the Gold Cup in 2014. Despite some below par efforts this year his trainer ( three time winner with Best Mate) Jim Culloty remains bullish for a repeat performance come the Gold Cup. Bobsworth is also interesting at around 16/1 in the market. A five time winner at Cheltenham including the RSA in 2012 before Gold Cup glory in 2013, Nicky Henderson’s charge could well be in the mix if retaining any of his old ability and enthusiasm. A wide open renewal this year in the most eagerly anticipated race of the season. Let’s hope all the animals get home safe.

Mulligan’s tip Holywell 10/1 e/w (How could Tony McCoy pick the wrong horse in the Gold Cup?)

If you don’t trust my Tips??? I popped the question to the up and coming Irish Trainer and Jockey Denis Hogan. The question I asked Denis ‘who are your Dark Horses for the festival. This is for District 082 eyes only

Blog issue 5)

Apologies that my blog is a tad late this week but as most of you are aware I am on holiday. Looking out from my 5 bedroom villa with its own swimming pool and gym on the exotic island of Barbados. It's so difficult to pull myself away from the cocktail bar at the pool and from walking down the glorious sea front.....

I wish !! Well back to the real world and reality?!? So who really killed Lucy Beale ??
The world has gone mad ? We now have betting on something that is a fixed result. Well, what do I know, there has been so much interest and debate in every household, pub, village and corner shop. Maybe it really is time that I stopped being a SOUR and grumpy bugger. Telling my family constantly 'It's not real you know !'

Then again I am not one for conforming with the majority. We even had the the Irish Prime Minister (Taoiseach) putting back his speech 30 minutes , so that it would not clash with the announcement that Jane Beale was the Jesabell that brought Lucy's young life to a tragic end! Sorry i missed the last episode was it a dead heat ?

Maybe we can have spread betting on how may years she will get ?? Match betting on more or less year's than Dot Cotton ?? I have got to move on, considering I don't even watch the soap.

Back to District information and maybe there will be another murder for real this time !?! I will only find out next week who has let the district down and a customer, by giving poor service and only scoring a 4 NPS on a mystery visit last week. This has now put us bottom of the Area and close to the 50% mark which would be so disappointing considering we were on course for 60%.

4 MORE WEEKS LET'S FOCUS AND LOOK AFTER ALL OUR NEW FACES !

On a positive note, Chingford now enters the Roll of Honour list, on the back of a AV COE pass last week. Well done !

After Ladbrokes failed attempt to buy out one of the biggest online player's 888 in 2011, up steps William Hill with what I believe to be a very generous offer £2.10 pence per share but once again this was not enough. The future of online seems to be constantly on a upwards curve. My projection would be that it will not be long until we look elsewhere for another takeover approach , maybe Bwin or betway.

Another second place last week from my 2 runners! I can still hold my head high mind, having given my colleagues a 20/1 winner after our line meeting on Friday. Even Andy Hunt put a few pounds on the nose and he's not had a winner since Henry VIII took his second wife. Apologies to Kayne,James and Gary who left early.

Selection's this week

Spring Heeled 5/2 Fairyhouse  (4th)
Rocky Creek 16/1 E/W Kempton  (WON SP 8/1)
Clarcam 3/1 Sunday Naas  (NR)

Good luck

BLOG ISSUE 4)

I guess the big news this weekend was our very own ambassador for William Hill. The legendary Tony McCoy announcing his retirement at the end of this season. I am sure he will be going out on a high and crowned for the 20th time, champion jockey. With over 4,350 winner's, the very best of them being the Cheltenham Gold Cup in 1997!?!?.......

I have had the pleasure of meeting him twice but very unlike me, I was well and truly lost for words. Nobody can ever truly understand the dedication, determination and physical pain that this young man has put his body through over the last 30 years. Let's hope he continues to fly the William Hill flag high....

Oh and for all the Spurs fans on the district a fantastic result down at the Lane on Saturday. Well deserved by all accounts....? (The same can be said about our HAPPY Hammer's) Results went with the bookies this weekend on the back of the Man City / Real Madrid / Man United results. The tables have turned.

From a district perspective the Mystery Visits have been average. As I posted in last week's blog, we should all be looking to highlight and offer our fantastic PROMOTIONS. This unfortunately has not happened !!

As you can see on the Roll of Honour link we have now had 9 visits and only ONE branch managed to offer a promotion!! (Lower Ed) This really is not acceptable and all new faces/customers should be offered a promotion and at the very least they should be discussed. On all my shop visits last week I was also disappointed with our staff's understanding of our offers. On Saturday we had some fabulous prices enhanced, not sure if we relayed this message...

I will continue to monitor this and will see if the remaining LBOs to be visited, will be offered a daily focus promotion ?

Well done to the Brimsdown shop team with there COE, good work!

Well, what can I say about my tipster section last week? 2 WINNERS and a NR that's what I call happy days. Even I can't moan about only getting 7/2 for Coneygree but with 7/1 Subtle Gray . I was extremely content and that's putting it mildly. Oh, I also managed to win lunch from Khale de Costa in Hatch Lane on Wed, easy money!

Quick update on the jumps, fantastic work by all the district updating all our customers. The leaders so far are

 Dursum 171 pts Chingford
 Mr.Norwood 168 pts Durants
 Colin 160 pts Hoddesdon
 Patsy 160 pts Ponders End

I am pretty sure we are the only district in the country talking about the Jumps in Feb.
Great work, I am sure all our customers appreciate our efforts. (Special mention for Brian Wilcox in Ponders End, for all his hard work)

I have been asked by one of the members of staff, do I back my tipped selections, the answer is yes, two single bets and a £5 double last week. I shall let your New Starters put that it in the OTT......

BLOG ISSUE 3)

What a fantastic weekend of sport and betting opportunities, coinciding with pay day! Football results went again in favour of the customers again with one lucky customer in our very own Tramway LBO , winning £23k !!

The Superbowl was a spectacular event with Katy Perry stealing the show!?!? The New England Patriots won the game in the last few seconds, coming back from a 10point deficit to stop the Seattle Seahawks from making it back to back Superbowls. One lucky customer in Enfield Highway LBO winning £11K

I think I may have spoken too soon in Blog issue 1.  It's obviously a good time to be a punter, rumour has it even Shane from Waltham Abbey had 4 winner's in a Yankee today. Maybe he should enter his tips for this blog.....

There are many visits predicted for the next 2 weeks regarding AV and Mystery shoppers. It is imperative that all staff are in regular discussion with our customers regarding PROMOTIONS.

This is our weakest area by far, we are letting ourselves down not offering promotions. This specific area will make the difference between middle of the road passive scoring LBO's or becoming a top rated promoter scoring LBO.

Let's give promotions our full attention and share any best practice with our 082 colleagues. Over the next few weeks , I shall be on regular visits across the district and this will be my biggest focus as well as discussing the up and coming Link Accounts.

There have been 2 branches achieving promoter scores this week! Check out the Roll of Honour link for more information this Friday....

I attended a Platinum workshop at the Ovel Cricket ground today, a fantastic location to deliver a strong and important message that will have a significant impact on our business this year.

I expect this message to be cascaded and delivered to all our customers in 082 in a professional manner. The input from all the staff that attended today was excellent both positive and constructive. A special mention to the 082 representatives Emma and Chantelle from Connop Road. They both received positive feedback at the end of the day. Great work.

We have to get this right and I know I can count on your support.

If there are any issues in this area then give me a call. I will support you all. Regardless if the issue is big or small. This also applies to Graham our Area Machine Manager.

Any issues with attendance for the Link course's let me know immediately. Non attendance will NOT be looked on favourably.

Saturdays horse selections were a case of so near, but yet so far! After 3 second places it's time to get a winner on the board. At least I am giving some pretty decent odds. I hope anyone mad enough to follow my selections have gone E/W

BLOG ISSUE 2)

Well what a difference a week can make the football results at the weekend completely went in favour of the bookmakers. The GW percentage of around 35%. Good old City, Everton and Chelsea... They really were singing the Blues !!!

As far as the district is concerned it was all about Mystery Visits last week and a big well done to all the Lower Edmonton team!! The first report in KICKING off with a perfect 10 NPS!

Brimsdown has followed up with an 8 NPS, work needs to be done regarding promotions, Tea and Coffees and ensuring all staff wear name badges at all times.

Not a bad start but there is still a long way to go with regards to our district target. Let's have a real focus for the next 9 weeks, I shall keep you posted!

This week sees the start of the Link Training courses, it is imperative that we give this our full attention! Please bring all the requested paperwork and a note for the staff travelling from outside the M25 boundaries, please arrange your travel permit with Emma Self the week prior and she will make the arrangements on your behalf, do not leave it to the last minute!! .Remember you are representing your branch, district and area! Personal grooming, good timekeeping and general input are a given.

This will undoubtedly be the biggest change in the industry this year. Good luck with the quiz.

I am sure that you all want to know how I am getting on with my issues from last week? Well things just go from bad to worse, but I guess we all know that feeling! At least the boiler is working now and the boys won 9-0 yesterday.

Well not much I can say about my tips from last week, Artic Fire ran a great race again to come second at 12/1 and I forgot to state that shutthefrontdoor only runs on the 8th February in the Hennessy. No comment regarding Gilgamboa.

Let's see if I can claw some pride back?!?!

BLOG ISSUE 1)

Firstly I would like to welcome anyone that has taken the time to log onto the District website.

Hopefully you will not only continue to read all the latest news but you will join in, add and be part of what will hopefully be a successful and enjoyable 2015.

I am really enjoying my time and looking forward to working hard with all the 082 team to raise the bar and drive the Area forward.

Not too sure how much information you want me to write on this blog but all suggestions are welcome.

As soon as I get any information on the bonus I will blog immediately. We really was landed with a KNOCK OUT BLOW on Boxing Day. The company lost well over 10 million on extremely poor football results. But personally I still believe we have done enough to scrape over the line.

If things could not get any worse would you believe we have just been hit for six again yesterday for another 10 million. The football results really are going from bad to worse!

Personally I believe it's good to give the punters some money back when times are hard in January. The Champions league and Cheltenham are just around the corner. Let's face it Spurs can't keep getting these dodgy decisions and Liverpool and Arsenal will have another wobble soon. ( I hope!)

On a personal note my boiler has packed in, my electrics have gone and my boys team which I happen to coach got knocked out of the County Cup QF today, so I am having a pretty awful week !!! Our team are the Edmonton Rangers Cougars U13s who play in the Watford Friendly League. (All results onfootball.mitoo.com hertfordshire)

Thank goodness we have had 2 good AV passes to put a smile on my face. WELL DONE Nightingale and Tramway!!!

The big one this year is Mystery Visits!!!! This will be on all my blogs, emails, pyramids and any other communication that I can use to help us all concentrate and get some good results on the board. We need to be  achieving above 55% NPS average for the next 3 waves.

This is not going to be easy as the district has never achieved above 50% on any wave ?!?!?

A lot of this will come down to being sincerely helpful to new faces coming into our branches on OUR district.

The visits have started and I hope all new employees have been trained, educated and understand what is expected of them. There will be a lot of pressure on both me and the branch managers to get things right this year so full steam ahead with no excuses.

Can't wait for the social night at the end of Feb if you're interested in attending please put your name down ASAP as the staffing may be an issue.

For interest sake I will also put up a few tips for the week. Or as my friends would say ones to avoid, well let the banter begin !!!

Leopardstown Sun 25TH

1.30 Arctic Fire 12/1   (result 2nd @8/1 -- 6 ran)
2.30 Gilgamboa 3/1    (result 3rd @11/4 -- 3 ran)
3.50 Shuttlefrontdoor 10/1 (non-runner)

Good luck
